Why does my honda run a few miles then stop getting power to the gas p

Why does my honda run fine a few miles then stop pulling but coasts? Then i turn off engine and restart and it will go a couple more miles and stop again but engine runs just no gas to the petal. Its revving fine but no gas to the pedal? This just started the day we changed cv axle! Is that a coincidence?
