Backlight not working, inverter not found

The screen displays but there is no backlight. I tried swapping out the LCD panel but it still doesn't backlight. It boots up and everything loads but the screen is black. I can see the image with a flashlight.

People say it's the inverter but I can't find that anywhere, and it's not on the Lenovo teardown/blowup that shows 200 parts inside https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mob...

I can't find the inverter available for sale anywhere even ebay and Lenovo.

Since other people are searching for this issue I should post the solution. The problem turned out to be a bad cable. The cable running up to the screen somehow became damaged from normal use and needed to be replaced.

The newer laptops do not use inverters anymore as they all use LEDs now that are built into the panel. The LCD connector on the logic board is what drives backlight power to the LEDs in the screen. Most likely you have a blown backlight IC or filter on the logic board and only be able to repair with schematic experience and board level

@Daniel The logic board on a Lenovo/PC would be the “system board” or motherboard, correct? So replacing that should fix the problem? Thank you very much.

If you have a Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11s the part number for the LCD cable is 90202833 found from the parts list for the laptop. (click on Commodity > Cables Internal (6) and scroll down to find the LCD cable part number).

If you search online using only the part number in the search box of your browser, you will get results for suppliers of the part.

Here’s a link to the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop which will help you to access the cable etc.
