Radio light (with a twist!)

So I’ve read a bunch of posts from people who say that their 2007 Honda Accord radio works, but the light won’t illuminate. Mine was the same for the past 5 years or so. I assumed that it was the bad internal resistor as all of the button lights work (just not the display).

The polar vortex came through the Midwest last night and when I got into my car this morning the light was magically on! It’s -8 degrees right now and I’m wondering if this changes anyone’s ideas on what I could do to fix this issue permanently. How would cold weather make the light turn on?!

thanks!
