Why is my tablet restarting .

When I press the power button, it'll on and trip off. It'll be starting itself without my pressing the power button. It'll keep on like that untill I force it off. Please what do I do. Don't know if it's need flashing/formating? The battery was down and it was doing same before it could show 1percent. After 1peercent, it was steady n charging.
