Fills, Agitates, then refills constantly and overflows and floods...

Kenmore 80 series washer.

When we wash, it fills up normally, then agitates for a few minutes, then it stops and starts to fill the washer up even more. And it keep filling and doesn’t stop. It’s flooded the kitchen twice.

The first time, the hose attached to the knob to select load size had come undone. So I reattached it and did one normal load. The next load went back to fill, agitate, stop and start filling and flooding… Help :)

What is the full model number of the washer?

When you say that “… hose attached to the knob to select load size had come undone” presumably you mean the pressure switch hose. This is used to get the pressure switch to operate to stop the washer from continuing to fill when the correct water level has been reached.

If you checked that the hose is OK (no splits or cracks, connected OK at both ends) then perhaps the pressure switch - example only has gone faulty.

To find the correct pressure switch for your model, search on the site in the link (model number only) or online, (insert full model number of washer) parts to get results for suppliers.
