Hi, I’m looking for information about the Wi-Fi “component” I need to check on my Asus Zenfone 2. I replaced the battery, which requires removing a lot of pieces, and after turning the phone on, the Wi-Fi doesn’t work. I am guessing I knocked something loose. (Also the vibration motor stopped working a long time ago, but it’s not as important)

Thanks. I realized the problem was actually the size of the battery that was preventing me from closing the phone correctly. Yes it’s very strange that the battery with the same model would have different dimensions, but here are photos I took in order to prove it with the vendor for a return: https://www.dropbox.com/s/aj27s667vy27wp... https://www.dropbox.com/s/0hdk40oxqv1ul7...
The back case has connections, so it needs to be perfectly fit. I ended up trying a different position which made the other side of the phone pop out, and the Wi-Fi was working again. BUT the screen was going haywire, turning on and off constantly because of the improper connection created by the bulge, with the battery “cage” being unable to fit into its correct position.

Hi,
Here’s a link to the ifixit Asus ZenFone 2 Motherboard Replacement guide.
At Step.5 in the procedure you’ll see the antenna connections. Hover the mouse over either of the smaller images to the right of the main image and click on either. This will let you see both ends of the antenna connection.
At Step.7 in the procedure it mentions the vibration motor. You could check that it is connected properly or perhaps it may need to be replaced.
