Game Doesn't Want to Install

I have this game called Galactic Civilizations II gold edition, it was working fine until I tried to get updates. Well first off, the serial number doesn’t work so I went to the manufacturers site & they told me to uninstall it and install Steam & use The numbers again.. Well, that didn’t work either. So I tried to reinstall the game & all I get is this error: “The file E:\Readme.txt could not be Opened.” I talked to the local PC repair & they told me nothing & it would be $95.00 just to check it out. I can’t find anything on the web.

Hi korhonen , first of all, what operating system is your laptop running on?

When you login to your steam account, did you managed to see the game in your account?

Estimado , la ubicación del archivo esta en otra letra , lo mas probable que el juego lo tenias portable , desintala todo registro del juego en instalalo por steam , así no deberías tener problema

Estimado , la ubicación del archivo esta en otra letra , lo mas probable que el juego lo tenias portable , desintala todo registro del juego en instalalo por steam , así no deberías tener problema — Sergio Rodrigo Vasquez Vergara

Go to your steam folder

Default location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common

Find the game folder and delete it there.

Uninstall from steam after that.

Then try to reinstall the game.
