Hey guys,
i have an iPhone 6s, which shows ,,Device unknown'' after selecting language and country . I can not activate it.
If it powers on, it takes about 3 min, until the apple logo dissapears and until i can choose the language.
iTunes does not recognize the iPhone, no matter if i try to put it in recovery or DFU mode.
iTunes and the iPhone has the actual software. I also tried to change the battery, but it didn't help.

Hi. I am having exactly the same problem. My iPhone 6s is on 12.1, but will not connect to anything via USB and will not charge. I get the device unknown error too. There is no SIM in the phone and I’m using a proper nano when there is.
Could this be a sim reader problem?
I have changed the charge port, battery, screen, cameras, etc. to see if there is a short somewhere, else but no joy so far.

I've seen this happen twice and in both cases it was caused by a SIM card that was damaged when it was being trimmed down from micro to nano size. You can test this by removing the SIM card and then trying to put it into recovery or DFU mode; if it works, you know the SIM card is a problem and you will need a new (undamaged) nano SIM card to fix it.
