No sound from ear speaker

I have a wx1477 phone that I haven't used for a while, I recently hooked it up to use it and everything works but I get no sound from the ear piece. I do get sound when I use the loud speaker function though. It dials fine and answers fine but no sound unless Im using the loud speaker. I did a hard reset but that did nothing, I also took it apart and check the speaker wires which seem solid and well connected.
