screen blank after replacement

Hi really hoping someone here can help!

I have replaced the screen on my iPhone 7 last night and at first it wasn't working but after a reboot it was fine.

However I realised I had done the home button wrong and it wasn't sitting flush, this was annoying me so I opened it up this morning to change this.

Turned it off first and didn't touch the screen connections.

When it was done I tried to turn the phone on but am now getting no display.

Please help me fix this its driving me crazy!

- Did you disconnect the battery before re-working on your screen?

- Now, if you connect your iPhone to your computer, is the iPhone detected by iTunes?

- If you connect the old screen back, do you get something on the display or also black? (Provided the old screen was still showing an image before).

CAREFUL: disconnect the battery first before replacing the screen.

I didn't no, I didn't re work on the screen though I only re did the home button...

I haven't tried yet as I'm at work and don't have a cable but the home button feels as though the phone is on....

Old screen was very badly damaged and came apart when removing so I don't have it anymore

I have definitely learnt a lesson regarding disconnecting the battery here!

Based on your feedback, you either damaged the screen or the image/backlight circuit on the board.

Screen could have been damaged mostly if the cables got damaged when re-opening the iPhone.

Or at board level you may have damaged the image circuit or the backlight circuit (most likely).

Connect to a computer and see if the iPhone is identified in iTunes to confirm that it is turning on. Pay special attention if iTunes says the iPhone needs restoring; in which case it may be in DFU mode (which shows no display) and need updating or restoring first.

Trying a new screen on (or the old one had it been still available) will confirm or rule out a bad screen.

If all above fails, you’ll need to troubleshoot backlight and display circuits on the board. Micro-soldering tools and skill will be needed for that.
