Why does my cassette player keep ejecting and spitting it out?

All of sudden my car radio cassette player doesn’t stay in anymore it keeps coming back out... I use it because I don’t have a AUX in my car and now I don’t know what to do and how I can get it fixed .. I thought it was the cassette so I got another one but it did the same thing. Helpppp

Two possible reasons:

1. The unit may need a good cleaning.

2. There may be a belt that needs replacing inside of the unit.

You could get a cleaning cassette and run it in your cassette player. Something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Cassette-Player-C...

I have no idea which is the best brand; perhaps all of these cleaning cassettes are about the same quality.

Running a cleaning cassette in your player may be all that is necessary to fix this problem.

If that doesn't work, you will need to remove the unit from the dashboard, take the cover off of the unit, and use good quality alcohol and a q-tip to clean the heads, the rollers, etc.

While the cover is off, make sure that all of the belts look good and have good elasticity. If any of the belts appear to be dry-rotted or do not have elasticity, replace them.

As far as an AUX port in your car, perhaps you could get a cassette adapter -- something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Cassette-A...

The one in the picture is $55. That is way too much to pay for this item. You can get it in a lot of stores for around $10. Family Dollar, Walmart, Walgreens, Dollar General, AutoZone, etc. Hopefully this device will stay in the cassette player, allowing you to play your MP3 player through your car stereo.

I just saw in my 97 Rav4 that my tape player takes the tape on its own. However, if it's not taking get a flathead or butter knife on your left hand side (or the tape players right) there is a silver piece that helps eject/load tape make sure you gently push that in and push your eject button for 10 seconds and it should reset the whole process. It worked for mine Good luck
