The Display of my monitor is deep green after a power outage yesterday

Hello

When I turn my Dell UltraSharp Widescreen 2709W monitor on after a power outage yesterday, it displays a black screen and after finishing its power up sequence ... it only displays a deep green color on the display panel.

It appears the video card still detects it as a Dell 2709W monitor on Windows 7.

After power up the buttons on the monitor to select preferences appear to stop responding.

I was curious how difficult this may be to fix?

Thanks for your time,

Bobby

Hi,

Here is a link to the service manual for your monitor.

It shows how to disassemble it and also has the scmematics and troubleshooting flowcharts to check for problems.

Was the monitor turned on and working at the time of the outage or did it only have the power on (standby, not turned on) at the time? If it was turned on this can affect how far into the monitor's circuitry the outage may have affected things.

Given that you had a power outage, I suggest that you check out the Power board first to see if there are any obvious problems such as blown components due to the possible surge caused by the outage.

Hopefully this is of some help.
