LG G5 suddenly flickering as if being tapped rapidly

Possibly due to over heating, my G5 now wont let me even unlock it because the moment i touch the screen, it acts as though i am tapping it rapidly all over and therefore wont let me press the right areas to unlock it. Tried restarting and leaving it with the battery out for over an hour. Please help
