How do I repair a running problem with my rear tine troy bilt tiller?

i can start the tiller if the choke is close, but it dies when it is opened.

Need to have the carburetor overhauled. Part of the process is to soak all components in ;carburetor cleaner', then use compressed air and blow out all passages. This will dissolve the trash/obstruction that's causing the problem.

I have another problem. When trying to use the' recoil starter' it fails to engage. I have to physically rotate the crankshaft and bang on the housing.
