Floor lamps are lights that sit on the floor. They are not table lamps, which are designed to sit on tables. Floor lamps are usually taller than table lamps.

Hi @fishgirl, you mentioned it is new, consider sending in for service / replacement.
Try this, WITHOUT POWER, (For Safety, Turn off the mains) use your finger to spin the fan blade, is there any resistance?
