how to fix an ipod when its stuck on hold?

The hold button still moves but it doesn't actual take it off hold on the ipod. I tried some tricks that people posted on the web but nothing has work. I'm not a techy so I don't want to open the ipod myself and try to fix it. Please help!

Let the battery die, then charge it back up.

If that doesn't work, make sure all of the music that's on your iPod is on your computer, connect it to iTunes, and do a factory reformat.
