Why is the right ear on my beats not playing

Have you checked the balance settings on your device.

I did a tiny bit of troubleshooting by verifying that the issue occurs with multiple apps (Safari/Netflix and Music on my MacBook Pro), but only one device.

I took mine to the Genius Bar today, because I got them through a back-to-school promotion from Apple last year. We verified that the problem persists when used with a “known good” source. He asked whether I may have over-extended that side of the set, but I hadn’t even ever extended it all the way (I usually only extend it one ‘click’ from fully closed).

The other cables on that side (power and bluetooth) both work. The only sympton is no audio on that side.

“Repair” options were to send it out—they don’t deal with them in-store—which would take a few days and cost $129, or to buy a new pair for $199. Neither are good choices for me to replace a ‘gift with purchase.’

I guess I’m going to have to take them apart. Since there’s no guide here (why I came to this site), I’ll just have to wing it. I’ll let you know if I figure something out.

My beats solo 2 hello kitty addition are brand new and it’s not playing out if the right ear. When I bought them they vans brand new put the box plastic everything. I thought I’d was the wire but I bought another site and the same thing is happening. When I hold the wire part where you control robe sound it plays fine in both ears? What do I do?

It wont be always that the beats right speaker is broken, it can be the fact that you have listened to loud music for a long period of time which can damage the headphone itself.

Id recommend that you send it to apple themselves to fix it, yes there are some apple stores who don't do it because they don't want to but still send it to apple and let them fix it. It shouldn’t take more than 1 week because its a simple replacement.

So I have yet to disassemble these headphones but if I have the headband in any adjustable position I can have a hand on each speaker, rotate (supinate) the right speaker so that your palm is facing away from your face and rotate (pronate) the left speaker so that your palm is facing opposite of the right. Full signal gets the right side playing as soon as I do this twisting motion. It only works one way and not the other for me.

Im getting there with it. I just need to begin disassembly to isolate the issue but I had to share this with everyone.
