Gluing the capacitive buttons to the back of the Screen assembly

Hi!

I just finished disassembling the S6 of a friend for a screen-replacement and noticed that I damaged the cable going from the daughter-board to the menu button. Since the buttons are hard wired to the daughter-board I ordered a replacement online. The replacement is in used condition (i.e. comes from another phone) and doesn't include any adhesive to glue the buttons back to the screen assembly. I have no idea what kind of adhesive tape/liquid to use.

Does it have to be electrically conductive?

What thickness should I go with if I choose a tape?

Thanks for any help

When you replace the charge port (which has the menu buttons on it) if you sit the cables down in their little cut-out positions and press the screen down that will be enough. The screen will put pressure on the buttons and it will be fine.

I bought the part in used condition because I wanted to makes sure it is an original part. The iFixit online store in Europe does not sell the part so I looked elsewhere. All the new ones seem to be knock-offs and I read mixed reviews on quite a few "original quality" parts on ebay and amazon. Any tips on the glue?

Great, gonna try this one out. As far as I see there is no electric conductivity or anything special about it. Are you confident that the buttons are going to work as expected?

should be fine as i think the touch is detected from the light being covered with a thumb or finger
