Run a rinse cycle with a gallon or two of Vinegar poured into it.

One other thing, to do with all washers today, is leave the lid open when not being used especially front load washers! Also there is a clean cycle on front loads that will pop up on your display and tell you to run a clean cycle. This needs to be done whenever it’s noted on the washer. Unless of course you want a horrible odor in your laundry room and house. This eliminates mold from growing in the bottom of your washing machine tub .

Your washing machine's drain pipe might have a partial clog that you might not have noticed before. A clog in the drain line will often produce an offensive odor that can resemble sewer gas because the bacteria can form on the organic matter likehair or soap will often produce a nasty smell.
