bader, did you try to reset your iPhone?
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Drag the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until the Apple logo appears.

'THIS WILL COMPLETELY ERASE YOUR DATA ON YOUR PHONE'...that's incorrect, a hard reset does not completely erase all of your data. Only a complete reset through the 'Settings" menu would completely erase all of your data. Your first recommendation is just a simple reboot, there's no such reset the way you have described it.
You are absolutely right. I edited the answer accordingly, however at least the reset worked. Thank you for pointing that out to me. I think a complete restore through itunes would accomplish the same thing.
