Why are some of my keys not working?
I discovered some keys on the left hand side of the keyboard are not working, could there possibly be a repair other than having to replace the whole keyboard?

Hi @darector ,
Try plugging in a USB keyboard first to prove that it is the laptop's keyboard that is the problem.
You can create more problems that what you started with when attempting to repair keyboards.
It is easier just to replace it.
Here is a link to the service manual for you laptop.
Scroll to p.67 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the palmrest/keyboard.
The keyboard is part of the palmrest and usually ship as one module. The trackpad however can be removed from the palmrest.
The palmrest/keyboard part is available online. Just search for Inspiron 11 3152 palmrest keyboard part to find suppliers that suit you best.
Alternatively the keyboard part number should be on the underside of the keyboard and you can use this number to search online for the part. Just search for Dell (insert part number) for results
Be aware that some suppliers have only the palmrest, no keyboard or trackpad. Some have the palmrest and keyboard but no trackpad, (you can use yours) and the others have the complete unit of palmrest, keyboard and trackpad. If you decide to purchase make sure you know what you are getting.

This is a common hardware problem on certain Inspiron 11 series machines. For people like me with the 3147 model, it is well documented that they keyboard has a short/fault that causes the left side keys, particularly the 1qaz to short out. There is no software solution, you need a new keyboard assembly. On my model, because the keyboard is essentially melted into the palmrest, it cannot be removed with screws and you need to replace the whole assembly, or be prepared to cut and remove plastic bonding.
