i replaced a airport card in my friends computer with a new one from ifixit.com using the repair guide on ifixit. and when we powered it on there was no change. the computer still says there is no airport card installed.
is there anything i need to do after installing it? getting kinda frustrating, any help would be greatly appreciated.

the airport card doesnt come up at all. we were thinking about backing up all his data and reinstalling the OS. thoughts?
Good move, if it has no effect then it's a true hardware problem.
