The specs for this phone indicate it has a "radio". Now, don't know if their indicating that is has 'radio" for Bluetooth or if it's just FM receivable. I would like to activate the FM receiver on this phone, if possible.

@rixter69 you and millions of other. This is a decision that is made by the manufacturer and cellphone carriers. You as an individual cannot activate the FM IC in your phone, but is a decision made by your carrier. Time to step it up and to create a group of concerned citizens that want this feature activated! let your Congressman know how you feel!

@rixter69, check here if ZTE activated it or not:
If it is activated, you can use this app to listen to live FM radio via head phone. The reason why headphone is needed is because it acts as an antenna.
LG, Samsung, and Motorola have already activated theirs, or are starting to activate it through OTA updates of firmware.
Like @oldturkey03 states, complain to your local Congressman, complain to ZTE if it is not working. This is a right, not a privilege. Especially when a natural disaster wipes out all cell towers around the area, and you absolutely need to hear the latest news.
The reason why the FM chip is disabled is simple greed for money. The music streaming industry is afraid that they will lose business if one has access to listen to live radio. So, once again, it is definitely important that this gets in front of your Congressman.

Thank You for your response. Yes, I'm well aware of the issues you stated. I am a "signer" of the "Right To Repair" petition that has been circulated (if that means anything). You might be familiar with that??? Isn't it diabolical of the phone companies to dictate their mandates to those who purchase their phone. Shouldn't the purchaser/owner be dictating mandates to the phone companies? I'm an interior carpenter and NO ONE would allow me to install woodwork/interior trim to whatever I chose to do nor get away with inferior workmanship. Only one note to your reply: it's not only the music industry -- the service providers KNOW they will lose "allocated data" (MONEY) should anyone be able to listen to AM/FM radio.

I think ZTE unlocked the FM chip. I use NextRadio with no problem. Just use your headphones! :)
