Where are the Power On Pads?

Hi,

I have Mac Pro mid 2010, 5,1 Quad core.

It was working fine since 2010. Few days back it stopped working and a red light near the CPU heatsink appears. I found on forums, that it might be due to dust, so I cleaned with a blower after removing all the parts one by one. After fixing everything back again, it worked fine without any red light.

Next morning when I started it again, it's dead. No light, No sound, no fan movement, nothing is running.

I have noticed after reading Apple repair guide I found online Mac Pro (Mid '10) - Apple Technician Guide:

  • When connecting the Mac Pro to AC power, the LEDs for OVTMP CPUA and OVTMP CPUB briefly flashes red and also momentarily flash red immediately after the Mac Pro is disconnected from AC power (note 1 & note 2, page no. 34)
  • After pressing DIAG LED button onboard, the 5V STBY LED illuminates. This indicates the Power supply and Logic board is fine.

Main Issue

The power button was giving me a problem from last 1-2 months, I need to press sometime 2-3 time to start the system.

I have read in the pdf that jump the SYS_PWR solder pads to turn ON the Mac Pro. But I am not sure which are the correct Power-On pads are as there is no exact solder around SYS PWR points.

Can someone please suggest what is the best solution or which are the correct Power-on Pads?

Thanks
