How to start my scooter

I just bought a 2016 roketa 50cc scooter (tao tao) and was playing around with it to try and figure out what it does. I accidentally pushed up a lever under the ignition and it closed off the area where you insert your key. I tried pushing the lever back down to reveal the ignition again and it won't budge. Any ideas as to how to get it back down so I can start my scooter?
