I didn't need to to any modifications because the battery I sourced was the right kind.

It would be really nice if you guys would do some kind of tear down for these headphones.... I have a loose charging jack and it would be great if I could disassemble these without destroying them, considering how expensive these things are. You guys can do iPhones and Galaxies but these are $400-500 headphones so, I think that these would worthy of a teardown too. Thanks.
