If you have to force stop the laptop to turn it back on, it appears that it may be in hibernation mode or sleep mode and is actually not turned off and is not coming out of this state correctly when you press the power button.
Check In Control Panel > Power options to see whether the laptop is set to go into Hibernation or sleep mode after a certain time or not and if they are try changing them to see if this resolves the problem for you.
Yeap. My Asus EeeBook X205 would constantly not turn on. I have to force off and try again.
