The 1999 Chevrolet Malibu is part of the fifth generation (1997-2003) manufactured by General Motors. This is the first smaller, front-wheel-drive Malibu that General Motors put back on the market after the Malibu line was temporarily discontinued in the early 1980's.

Most likely a disconnected or clogged air conditioner evaporator hose: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYtK3GjS...

That's why some cars leave a wet spot while running and sitting in the summer time with the air on. But this little drain tube, usually rubber, sometimes out the bottom, sometimes out the firewall can and often does get plugged. It usually about as big around as a pencil. Either with crap picked up through your outside vents, or because a nasty algae grows in there sometimes. If it is a plugged tube, you have to find it, either via a repair manual or by knowing what you are looking for, and running a wire up and down through it to knock out the crud. With it plugged, the water will back up and come out on the carpet.

The rear window is probably not defrosting because the ambient humidity inside the car is to high, not allowing for evaporation.

The wet floors sound like a leak letting in rain or snow. The defogging issue is a bit more complex, but I would check the fuse boxes first and make sure the fuse for the defroster isn't blown.

I had this exact problem in my car. Not the defrost part but the soggy floor. Heater core was leaking. Ended up bypassing it altogether.
