Why is my Huawei Mate 9 unable to boot?

Turns on but once the logo shows up, it just stays there and won't proceed further. Tried pressing Power button and Up volume and then down volume after the logo appears but there's no effect or other info that shows up on the screen. So basically, phone just turns on then logo then nothing else.
