Why is my Samsung Galaxy S5 unresponsive and not turning on?

My phone paused on a black screen, but it was still on because the notification light was still flashing. I couldn't turn it off, so I took out the battery to restart the phone. Now after putting my battery back in it won't turn on or charge. The screen is cracked, but other than that the phone was perfectly fine before. What do I do?
