@maryannebrilley do you still see a menu clearly? It is possible that this is a bad panel....Remove the back of your TV and check the boards for any obvious damage. Post some images of th boards with your question. use this guide iFixitでの質問に画像を追加する方法 for that. It will allow us to see what you see.
