what does what does it mean when you turn the camera on and it tells you to power off then power back on and then once you do that it says the same thing all over
again. Does it mean you need to rest it or what it's a Sony cyber-shot7.2 pixel an Dsc-W120 super shot as n the lens will comeout then go back in when you turn it on then it says power off then power back on so I do that but I keep getting the same message.

What is the make and model number of the camera?
Can you easily remove the battery from the camera?
If so, remove the battery, then press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, release the power button and replace the battery and turn it on and see if it works OK

i tried what u said it didnt work its saying macro invalid

Hi, OK one more try. As the error seems to be different now changing from message saying power off then power on to macro invalid, perhaps the reset time wasn't long enough. So once again remove the battery, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds this time, release the power button, insert the battery and see if it is working now or if the message has changed.
Sony's recommended reset procedure is to just remove the battery for 15 seconds then replace it and try.
If the first suggestion in this comment still doesn't fix the problem try the second and see it it works.
