Dead Acer Aspire ZG5?

Hey guys.. I have an Acer Aspire ZG5, that I got a year ago, running Windows 7. It worked perfectly, like a charm. But I forgot about it, and and put it in a locker. I opened it up recently, and found the computer. I picked the charger, plugged it into the wall and on the machine. I pressed the power button, but the battery light turned on, and faintly turned off. Sometimes, all of the lights turn on, and suddenly turn off. I tried to do a hard reset (no battery, just charger). Nothing. I tried to do the reverse (only battery). No response. I don't know what to do, is it because of the dust that maybe inside it?

I hope that I get it working fast...

Greetings,

~Gum

Hi Try letting the charger charge the battery for 3-4 hours before attempting to switch it on and see what happens. A dead flat battery need to be given a chance to revive.

I will try. It needs to rest a bit.

@jayeff

most laptops can run with 0 battery or even no battery, they can get power directly from the adapter.

Try taking out the battery completely and then try to turn it on again

Gum , Try a reset, remove battery and charger/power cord. Hold in the power button for 30 seconds to reset the computer. Reinstall the battery, plug power adapter and try. This works for lap tops with your issue a lot of the time.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button. Check out

I was hoping you were my angel, but it didn't work.. I still think it might be something (dust, i mean) inside it.

Sorry it did not work for you. Try a google search (Acer Aspire ZG5 not turning on) quite a bit of info. out there and things you can try, some say reseat or change the Ram, disassemble and look for a pinched ribbon cable, some say it is a Bios problem and needs recovered. I hope this may help, good luck with your laptop.
