japanchuga post another clear high resolution image with your question. The reference designator on the board will tell you more about what it is. You should see a "C" ,"R" or another letter followed by a number that refers to the component. For example a "C" is a capacitor etc.

One more thing you should do, is to find the numbers on the board that will tell us what board this is. The same computer, in your case a NP700Z5B-S01UB will have a variety of boards. Since it is a Samsung it might start with a "BA-" or have a city name silk screened on it.

oldturkey03 Thanks, there is no "C" or "R" only what I can see is "GD" and letter "H" in some circle. and number on the board I found is BA62-00632A and there is also writtenT7LUFBC2B1592. Is it possible to find a schematic diagram for this motherboard?

BA92-09017B this should be the motherboard .

Can you post a better image than the one you have? It has to be clear without motion artifact.

Thanks Barrie, OldTurkey. Appreciate it!!! Cheers guys!

japanchuga that is C583 which is a 1nF 3KV capacitor. No information on the package size available. For that you will have to measure the size of the component.

Slightly different version of your logicboard, but same component on those.

Like @automotive said it is important to have the right tools when working at this level. Best tools are some smart tweezers to help you out for the future.

From experience, I'd say it's a surface mount capacitor. You need to take it out of circuit & measure its value or else get a schematic & look up what ratings it is supposed to have. They are quite cheap to buy, so try getting a new one, as pilfered parts can be difficult to take the solder after removal. Alternatively, measure it using an in-circuit capacitance meter. It looks to be only used for filtering, so I don't imagine the exact value is critical. If I had to guess, I'd say it'd be around the 100nF mark. Such a part doesn't usually go faulty, so maybe it just needs a re-work?

Thank you so much. Can you give me some advice where to find a schematic diagram for this laptop?

The problem with this is laptop is that little bit of rain fell on laptop. So, I guess this (capacitor) might be a problem because is not showing anything on capacitance meter.

Which capacitance meter are you using? Unless it says specifically that it's meant for testing capacitors in-circuit, you need to remove the capacitor before you measure it.

If water got under the capacitor, it would be reading a short, not an open circuit. I believe your problem is elsewhere. Have you tried using a hairdryer on it before switching it back on?
