My daughter just dropped her ipad mini and the screen completely shattered - how do I know if I need the digitizer along with the screen? I just ordered a replacement microphone yesterday and along with the toolkit to remove the screen. Funny part is I took the otterbox off to get ready to replace the microphone.
Please advise what I need to for screen replacement.

mcginnm without actually seeing your damage I suggest that you get both. A new digitizer and a new LCD. It's a bit of a PITA to open and your may crack the digitizer.
