Why wont it power up?
even while plugged in the laptop will not power up. it goes to start but just stops.

I find a lot of problems with mother boards with this series Dell. I did find one case where the individual was able to repair a 1500 by replacing the button battery. I am including a link to that article in hopes it may help you. Good luck
