Do I need to purchase a heat shield plate or LCD digitizer?

My phone suddenly went blacked out and it couldn't be turned on after I delayed on replacing the bloated battery. The situation was so bad that my LCD screen was seen being pushed out slightly. Now that I have replaced the battery, the whole phone couldn't be turned on. To make things worse I accidentally scratched the heat shield on the shield plate as it had bent it slightly.

So my question is what should I do now? Should I purchase a LCD digitizer and give it a try? Does iFixit offer refunds if purchased items doesn't work out for their customers?

The heat shield should not affect the phones functionality. Its there to protect the LCD from excess heat, but your phone should still power on without it.

The issue shouldn't be with the LCD if it was working prior to the install of the new battery.

Do you have more than one new battery?

Have you plugged the phone into the mains without the battery attached? If so what happened?

If the phone comes up with the fruit logo with the battery detached, then your issue was with the battery and you will need to get it replaced. Not all new batteries will function and if you do not have a battery booster you will need to get a new battery.

Actually the LCD wasn't working before the installation. It could have broke something in between.

I went to check it again and I think one of the three cables is dangling loosely and could be while installing I had broke that cable which links to the LCD.
