After downloading an app on the tablet it says insufficient space on device even though there are no other apps installed other than what came on it. Any ideas how to fix this? It also says to free up some space and try again.

Try clearing your cache partition by going to settings>storage>cached data>OK/clear
Apps are downloaded to the cache partition before being installed.
what android version are you running? can you take a screenshot of the storage settings? If you are running an out of date or modified version of android, it may not let you clear cache

This won't work because there is no cached data option in storage.
And it downloads fine. Just won't install.

I have the same problem but on mine it won't download anything at all it always says insufficient storage but nothing is downloaded on my tablet both internal storages one is empty and the other is full to its max and have no clue on how to get it emptied I'm hoping to find a way to I guess to reinstall the 4.1 jellybean firmware onto it. Did you get a fix for your tablet because mine is the same 2 internal storage and one full won't let me download
