Replacement Parts Cost vs. Buying New

I just attempted a replacement of the digitizer screen on my I-Pad Mini 2. Seems to have gone ok. Unfortunately, it appears that somehow, I have damaged the LCD. A new LCD is $100. I have already spent $80 on the digitizer. Also, who knows what else I have damaged in the process of taking the i-pad apart?

For $200, I could have bought a new i-Pad Mini 2.

Bottomline, unless IFIXIT lowers its prices on parts, it is not worth the effort, frustration and expense of attempting a fix.
