Main sound will not come on.

I can not get my main sound to come on on my HP Pavilion dv7-123nr. The touch button next to the quick play button is always red. It won't change, yet the toolbar at the bottom says the speakers and the dual headphones are working. Headphones do not work.

Hi, Have you checked in Device Manager to see if the audio controller is working properly? What OS is installed in your laptop, Win 7,8.1, 10?
