No Image from lens or SD card on LCD Display.

LCD Display stopped suddenly. LCD Display does not show image from lens or SD Card but does show all camera functions, settings and LCD mode settings. What is the problem. It's not like sudden death where the internal battery replacement fixed the problem. The shutter and flash work but does not record pictures on SD Card when trying to take pictures.

HELP
