Will not sync with computer
Will wake up as I plug it in, but the iPod tells me won't sync.

Reset the iPod
Try a different USB Port
Restart the computer
Restore the iPod
These are things that may solve your issue. I'd start with using Apple's trouble shooting assistant, which should walk you through them.
