Locked and Jack needs to be replaced

First my ipod got locked for some 4 crore minutes and later when the battery died i tried charging it but it wouldn't get charged.So i took it to the Apple store and those guys said that the charging jack wasn't working and i should replace my ipod by paying 12000INR. How do i replace the charging jack
