Hey, I was wondering if anybody could tell me what kind of screw is in the battery cover and where I might be able to find one? My eighty year old grandfather tried to help me remove the cover and stripped the screw...

It appears from the guide that it pretty much a standard Phillips head screw.
There are a couple of tri-wing screws on the other end (see step #6 of this guide:

The screws on the outer shell of the gameboy micro are Tri-Wing Screws, you can try to contact Nintendo Support for the Gameboy Micro and ask if you can order Tri-Wing Screws for the Gameboy Micro from them, if not then you can send in the GBM to repairment to them and see if they'll add the missing screws.
