There is a black or dark gray band about ¾ inch in height across the top of the display (or on side in portrait) alongside a thin red line and a blue one. There are also three light gray bands across the middle that are also about ¾ inch deep.
Here is an image of the display problem. Since it doesn't show up in the screen shots does that indicate a problem with LCD?

Your LCD is cracked. Looks like the point of impact is on the top left of the LCD.

Marie. since we do not see what you see and strictly based on your description, it sounds like you have a broken LCD. Consider posting some images of what your display looks like. Here is a guidefor that. Since you did not tell us which iPad Mini you have. select it from this devices and look at the guides for the repair.

Thanks for your reply. It's a 16GB iPad mini 2 w/wifi & AT&T. I'll post screen shots below. Actually, screen shots don't show the problem. I will post a photo taken with my phone.
