Ink on notification LED, best way to remove it?

Hi all, long story short, there is now Sharpie ink on the notification LED under the speaker grill on the front of the phone.

I know I can remove it with rubbing alcohol, but trying to leach it off by letting alcohol set on the grill & then soaking it up with a QTIP failed to remove it, it just diluted it and let it spread out over the LED even more, so now it's all but invisible.

Where is the LED located? Is it on the back side of the logic board, or all the way in the front display assembly? Can I just leave the ribbon cables in place & flip the logic board back to clean it off, or will I have to go all the way to removing the glass?

I would try Nail Polish Remover and Q-tips. But soak the Q-tip with the remover, do not apply directly on the machine. Once you do that immediately follow up with rubbing alcohol (90%) to clean up residue from the remover.

Thanks for the tip. I already tried soaking the Q-tip & then trying to rub it off, but it didn't even dilute it. So, I applied it directly & it did dilute the ink, but then I have no way to remove it completely without disassembling the phone.

The main thing I need at this point is how much do I need to disassemble the phone? I assume the LED is just on the back of the logic board, but I can't be sure that it isn't the the front assembly with the LCD panel.
