iPhone 5c charging port on the logic board

I have been working in a repair shop for a good year or so, so i am certainly no stranger to the basics of iPhone repair. However i bought an iPhone 5c the other week and it has been working fine except the charging port was faulty, i.e was only charging on one side of the charger.. tried loads of different chargers to only find the same problem. I tried replacing the charging port, and the same thing happened. I tried replacing it again, and then it stopped working at all! i noticed when i put the flex cable onto the logic board, it did not make the confirming "click" when it goes in, and i also noticed it was not seated entirely straight and looked a bit bent. I tried forcing it down straight, and re-fitting the cable many times to ensure the fit was right however the phone will not work at all now. I am assuming this is because the phone went dead, and because the charging port wont work, it wont turn on. Is it possible i have damaged the charging port connector on the logic board? When i look under a magnifying glass it does not appear to be damaged, however i am unsure.

Any replies would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

yes that would be possible. How about posting some good images with your question so we can see the connector as well?

If you can get an iPhone 5c battery that already has some charge in it, you can connect it and see if your phone boots ok. That will tell you if the phone is still working ok.

The charging port connector should fit flat in to the socket. You may have a bad/wrong part, or the pins on the board could be damaged.

Really appriciate the answer David, if the connector is damaged on the board, is there any way to repair this?

Thanks

Yes, it can be repaired. It requires micro soldering skills and good tools. You would want to send that out to someone with experience. If there's nobody local that you know of, you can look up Mendon iPad Rehab, which is owned by Jessa who is frequently on these forums.
