Charge port, home button, and headphone jack not working

I replaced the plastic back casing of the iphone 5c with a new one. I have plenty experience working with these phones and something has happened that i haven't run into before. Everything went back together fine in the new case. Turned it on and the home button will not work along with the charging port not recognizing the charging cable. All the while the phone is stuck in headphones mode. I am not sure if the mic works or not but i'm thinking it might be the cable that works all of these functions. Have you guys ever ran into a problem like this? If so what do you suggest I do? Thank you in advance.
