How to replace xbox 360 analog stick?

So I have an issue. After I first replaced the analog and hooked it up to test it out I was stuck spinning uncontrollably. I noticed some solder looked like it was crossed on some joints so I removed the extra solder and tested it again. Now I have proper up and down movement but no left to right response at all. Any ideas?
