hi im just wondering if you have to program THE NEW optical drive IN XBOX ONE LIKE THE OLD 360S

THE TUTORIAL SHOWS THAT WE JUST SWAP THEM OUT BUT WILL GAMES WORK ON THE NEW DRIVE ?? i read that the drives are motherboard locked so how does this tutorial work ?? I also read that you have to swap out the board on the original drive to the new one in order for it to work but the tutorial does no such thing can someone shed some light on this thanks !!

My Xbox one S has no optical drive at all.. How do I install a new one if I don't have a daughter board??

You have to swap the daughterboard from the origianal optical drive that came with the console from the factory with the daugtherboard with the new drive you are going to install. Each optical drive daughterboard is married to the motherboard so it must stay with that motherboard even if the drive is swapped out.

You will need to desolder the wires for the motor and solder them back on the replacement board.

Is there anyway to know what daughterboard is attached to what motherboard? I have a bunch of systems that have been mixed up due to a big move. I can't find this answer anywhere. Specifically the Xbox One S.

I replaced my Disk drive on my original xbox one Halo version. With a Disk drive Order from Amazon. Unsoldered and re soldered daughter board to new Disk drive. It will take the disk in try to read it then I get a black-and-white Square message DVD Blu-Ray disk or game does not recognized please insert and DVD blu Ray disk or game. How do I get my xbox to start to read disks again
